R1P2VLCD16 & 17
Well, I can't complain too much. I lost .2lbs yesterday, but today the scale was the same. So, I guess that's better than gaining :).
I am 133.0 lbs. I have lost a total of 11.6 lbs since my last load day.
I hope I see the scale go down tomorrow. Not sure why it didn't budge from yesterday.
The only thing I can think of, is the past 3 days I have been eating the same protein and it's been 97/3 lean ground beef. I usually eat chicken and/or shrimp. Tonight I am making chicken, so hopefully that will make a difference.
Do any of you eat the same protein for lunch and dinner (ie. chicken) or do you have say chicken for lunch and fish or red meat for dinner? I wonder if that would make a difference.
I certainly wouldn't mind have two different proteins, b/c chicken was getting monotonous. That's why I made an HCG approved recipe for meatloaf (which I have to say was pretty yummy, and I normally don't like meatloaf).
Please share your thoughts, opinions, advice, etc...

I couldn't be happier!!! I lost another full pound. I am at 133.2!!!!!!!!
This program is amazing!!! I was planning on only doing the 23 day program, but I don't think I will be at my goal by then. So, I may go 30 days or 40. My original goal was to get down to 125 lbs, but now I want to get down to 120 lbs. Who knows, maybe even 115 lbs. I KNOW it can happen with this program. AND I am only 5'3", so I know that is not too much to lose. I have not been 125 lbs in 10 years. Forget about 115 or 120, I think it's been since high school since I was that small.
I am getting excited at the idea of working out again. For once it will be to tone my body and not have to battle the fat first. I can't wait!!!
I was telling my sister that I am so happy with the scale and how my clothes are fitting (or should I say not fitting, b/c they are getting big on me) :). What's strange though, is when I look in the mirror before I get in the shower, I do not see the weight loss. I am down 11.4 lbs, but when I look at me, I can't see it. I still see the 15 lbs that I need to lose.
Do any of you do the same thing?? My husband, Dave, did say that when he was grabbing at my butt and hips, there wasn't as much to grab on too.....LOL....I know too much info :).....but I thought it was funny and it made me feel good.

FABULOUS NEWS!! I weighed in today at 134.2 lbs!!
I was soooooooooooo nervous about hosting Easter yesterday at our house!! Dave made two hams on Saturday night, so we could serve ham sandwiches on Sunday. So, I had to go through the torture of smelling the wonderful ham on Saturday and then watch everyone eat it on Sunday. :)
I was surprised that I did not break down and eat a sandwich. I made a spicy shrimp broccoli salad for me to eat. I made an even yummier broccoli salad for everyone else (it had bacon in it, mine did not).
I also made a cumber/onion salad. Both salads got rave reviews!! I was very happy to hear that since that was the first time I made either of them with the hcg vinaigrette dressing recipe that I have.
My cousin even told me she wanted both recipes.
So, I was able to not cheat by having side dishes and such that I could eat. Dave did give me one little itty bitty bite of ham, so I could taste it.....it was DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! But I was good and did not have anymore.
For dessert I served strawberry shortcakes and ice cream cake (my brother's girlfriend brought that). I enjoyed the strawberries minus the shortcake and whip cream. :)
I know I did not get in my 100 ounces of water yesterday, even though I tried very hard. I was just so busy with my cousin's kids and visiting with the family. I think that might be why I didn't see more of a weight loss than .2 lbs from yesterday to today. But, I am happy that there was at least that :)
It's safe to say that this weekend was a success in more ways than one.
I took my measurements on Saturday, however, I am at work right now and do not have the sheet with me. I will post my measurements tomorrow. Saturday I weighed in at 135.0
Current weight stats:
Starting weight (after load days): 144.6lbs
Saturday = 135.0
Sunday = 134.4
Today = 134.2
Total weight loss = 10.4 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT A GOOD MORNING!!!
Unfortunately the scale does determine my moods :(.
I weighed in today at 136.0.
I'm up .4lbs since yesterday.
NOT HAPPY about that.
I realized on my way to work that I left my HCG drops at home. So, I will not be able to take them this afternoon....GRRRRRRRR.
I also discovered something else this morning and I am so freaking ticked off!!!
The Local HCG Protein shakes that I have been drinking.
I thought it was 80 calories for one scoop (one serving)……WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For some reason I looked at the label again today…….it’s 80 calories for one TABLESPOON, not SCOOP.
The scoop holds 2 tbsp!!! maybe even 2 ¼ or 2 ½ . Why the $#%#%^ would they put a scoop in the container that doesn’t equal the serving size?!?!?!?!!?
I have been using the scoop since my first VLCD, thinking it was 80 calories, not realizing it was double.
That MIGHT explain the weight gain….I just looked at my food log and when I made the adjustment on the calories, that means I consumed 564 freakin calories yesterday!!
I have made the sdjustments on the rest of the days on my food log to reflect the EXTRA 80 calories that I did not realize I was consuming. Sure enough, there were FOUR days this week that i was over 560 calories. Sunday I was at 592!!!
The bright side is that I have lost 3.2 lbs since last Friday. That's 3.2 lbs in 7 days....on any other diet I would be thrilled with that number. BUT with this diet it should be at least 5lbs!!
My wonderful sister said, "Thats frustrating but good that you figured it out." She is absolutely right!
So, I guess I have to make the mental adjustment in my head. I need to be HAPPY that I lost 3.2lbs so far this week and keep moving forward to see more weight come off.
I'm nervous about Sunday b/c of Easter. I'm trying to find some HCG recipes for things that I can make for Easter dinner. We have family coming into town and we are hosting Easter at our house. I'm definitely going to need the right frame of mind to NOT cheat on Sunday.!!

Awesome news!!!!!! I am at 135.6. I lost a whole pound from yesterday!!!!
This has been the best experience in weight loss that I have had since Ephedra was on the market legally.
I can honestly say that I have NOT been starving on this diet. Don't get me wrong, I do get hungry, but I don't have any serious cravings and my stomach is growling all the time. Many diets I have been on in the past, I have always been hungry and usually in a bad mood. I think the bad mood has generally been b/c I felt like I was starving and working out, but not seeing results on the scale, or at least not as quickly as I wanted to see results.
Besides my first day on the VLCD, I have not been in a bad mood at all. I have been tired from time to time, but for the most part, I have been in a FANTASTIC mood!! I am guessing that seeing the weight loss on the scale every morning has a lot to do with being in such a wonderful mood :).

Ok, are you confused by the title to this posting? Well, let me explain, it stands for Round 1 Phase 2 Very Low Calorie Day 8. I will be titling my postings this way going forward.
Well, today the scale was NOT my friend. I weighed in at 137.4. That means I GAINED a little over a 1/2 lb!!!!!!!! NOT happy about that, especially since I followed the diet to a "T". So, I am not sure what happened?!?!!? I have a question in to Candice, my main resource for support http://www.askcandice.blogspot.com/, about whether not eating enough calories could have caused the weight gain. I will let you know what she says.
Something that doesn't have anything to do with the weight gain, but probably helped with my success so far, is that I have been overdosing on the HCG drops, meaning taking way more than the 10 drops 3x a day. I didn't know I was doing this until I decided to email Jerry at Local HCG http://www.localhcg.com/category/hcg-products/?ap_id=triciataylor626 and Candice, about my concern that I was already down a 1/2 bottle of the HCG and I just started the drops on April 9th. They both determined that I was using too many drops. Here was Jerry's response:
To end on a good note: My size 10 pants are fitting loose!!!!! Not ready for 8s just yet, but I know it's only a matter of time and I will be in single digit clothing again!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Much of the reasoning people tend to run short on drops is due to over dosing the drops. This isn't bad for you but will use more of the drops than necessary. You are not the only one who has this concern and it is always tied to an over dosing of the product."

And Candice's advice was:
"The drops are actually a 40 day supply. I'm assuming you are doing the 3x10 a day? If you started on the 9th, then you shouldn't be 1/2 way yet? The drops can be a little subjective on the measurements, that is why the pellets are nice. Try using a spoon and measure your 10 drops into the spoon, then place it under your tongue. If I remember right, 10 drops is about 1/4 - 1/2 of a teaspoon? Let me know if you notice a difference in the volume, and how it measures."
Well, both of them were correct!! I measured out my drops this morning and it almost filled a 1/4 tsp, which I placed under my tongue and trust me, the amount of HCG in my mouth was far less than what I had been putting in my mouth.

Hey All!!
I was extremely busy this weekend helping Dave and Josh get the addition to the house done, so I did not have time to get online and update the blog. So, I will give a quick run down of how the weekend went.
Saturday:
I did not get nearly enough calories in b/c of being so busy. My total calorie consumption was 362 calories for the day. Surprisingly I was not starving all day. I did take an energy supplement (pill form) in the morning and the afternoon. I don't know if that helped with the hunger. My guess is yes.

I was surprised when we had dinner, at freakin 10pm (way too late for us), it did not take long for me to feel full. I had 4.25 ounces of chicken breast and 6 ounces of cauliflower. Then I had my sliced strawberries for dessert. I had 7ounces in my dish but I could not eat all of them.

I haven't been this low in at least 6 months!
The hunger hasn't been too bad, but I'm ready for my apple right now. :)

Day 7 on HCG/Day 4 of VLCD
So, I am down to 139.2lbs today….Which means I lost .8lbs since yesterday, not nearly as dramatic as the past two days, but I’m still down. So that’s good.
I was nervous last night that I wouldn’t be down at all b/c I actually ate dinner (chicken breast & green beans) vs having a protein shake & veggies. Plus I ate some dill pickles. I did it out of habit while I was making dinner. Every diet I’ve been on I eat the hamburger dill pickle chips from Publix b/c they have no calories…not to mention I LOVE pickles.

Day 6 on HCG/Day 3 on VLCD
More good news!!!! I lost 2.2lbs since yesterday!!! WoohWooh!!
Here are the stats:
My beginning weight on April 9th (6 days ago) was 143.0lbs
After my 3 load days I was 144.6lbs
yesterday = 142.2lbs
today = 140.0
I am pumped with the results I am seeing on the scale.
I still haven't figured out how to add a food log or calorie counter to the blog.
I did find a FREE Food Diary site where I can log my meals.
I will put the link on each day in case you would like to see what I am eating.

I have learned over all the years of dieting, that logging everything you put in your mouth will help you tremendously in losing weight. It helps you stay accountable to yourself. At the very least you can see what you ate on the days that you saw results.
Yesterday I was hungry off and on throughout the day, so I followed Candice's advice (http://www.askcandice.blogspot.com/) and chugged lots of water!! It did help. I have been consuming over 100 ounces of water a day. Let me tell you, I have to pee every freakin hour...lol...I know TMI, sorry.
Tonight I do not have class, so I will be having a real meal (chicken breast & veggies) with my husband, instead of a protein shake.
Let's hope the scale keeps going down!!

Day 5 on HCG/Day 2 on VLCD
The scale was good to me today :)!! I weighed in at 142.2. Yesterday I was 144.6, so I am down 2.4 lbs in one day!!!!!! I know it was a drastic amount b/c I just came off my load days, but regardless, it's nice to see.
When I started this 5 days ago I was at 143.0, so that means I am down .8lbs from my starting weight!
Yesterday was a little tough. Lunch (3.5oz of shrimp (7 shrimp) and 3.5oz of steamed cauliflower) did not seem like enough food. I was hungry off and on during the day, but not ravenous. I had a protein shake after work, that was my dinner. When I got home from school I had 3.5 oz of strawberries (a little less than 1/2 cup). I actually did not consume 500 calories yesterday. I will have to fix that today :).
I might need to put a calorie counter on this page. I will have to try to figure out how to do that.
Last night before my class started, I did get a headache and it was a bad one.
Dave and his cousin Josh (our new roommate) were working on the addition to the house (Josh's efficiency). They had been working all day on it. Well, on my way home after class (@ 9pm), Dave asked me to stop at Subway for them and pick them up some sandwiches. Pre-diet Trish would have had no problem, but I was hungry and irritable and ticked off that I had to go into Subway and smell the food and order food to take home, and not eat it!! I was a complete B*tch and I feel terrible about it! Dave handled my attitude very well, but it was not fair for me to treat him the way I did. I told him I would try to not take my hunger out on him. But, I also told him to not have me pick up food for them when he knows I am on a diet!! Come on man, that's tough, especially for the first day on VLCD!!
Enough about that....today is a new day!
No headaches, I'm down on the scale and I have a good outlook!
I do have class again tonight, ugghhhh....but it will be ok, I'm NOT stopping at Subway afterwards :)

Day 4 - first day of VLCD (very low calorie day)
I am happy to report that the headache seems to be gone!!! You have know idea what a relief that is!
Yesterday was my last load day and I cannot believe that I am actually happy about that! I was so full last night that I felt I could vomit!
The scale this morning definitely reflected the increase in food. I weighed in at 144.6...ugghhhh! I haven't been that high since the holidays.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays might be tough b/c I have classes after work.
Here are the meals I have planned for the day.
Breakfast (9am) - protein shake: 100 calories
Mid Morning snack - apple(small): 55 calories
Lunch - Shrimp (3.5oz): 110 calories
- Steamed Cauliflower (3.5 oz): 22 calories
Mid Afternoon snack - melba toast (5oz): 20 calories
Dinner - protein shake: 80 calories
- melba toast (5oz): 20 calories
Dessert - Strawberries (20 medium): 80 calories
Grand Total: 487 calories
I will let you know tomorrow how today went and what the scale says.
Tomorrow's menu will probably be the same.

Day 2 & 3
I can agree with everyone else who has taken this hCG journey, you DEFINITELY get headaches. My head has been hurting for two days straight, now going on the third day. I have taken 800mg ibuprofen and it barely takes the edge off the headache. I am so glad I decided to start this over the weekend. I laid in bed Saturday evening (around 4ish), watching tv and following the Local HCG support group on Face Book. Following the postings on that site has been very helpful. You can find the support group on FB under "Local HCG."
Sunday, Dave and I slept in until 9:30, we NEVER sleep in that late!! So that was nice. I did wake up around 6am, so I weighed myself and took my drops and went back to bed. I was really excited about eating what ever I wanted during the load days, but I am surprised how much I was not able to eat or should I say did not feel like eating. On one of the FB postings, it was said that loading was VERY IMPORTANT b/c your body will feed off of this food until the hCG starts burning the abnormal superfluous fat.
So, I ate a big lunch (bacon cheeseburger, with french fries and a side of onion rings) with Dave at Steak n' Shake. Then we laid down for a nap around 2:30. We got up about 5:15. I still felt so full from lunch that I was not ready to make dinner. Around 7:00 I finally started dinner. We had buttered noodles, corn and steaks off of the grill (they were delicious). The ribeye steaks were huge, but I could not eat my whole steak.
Around 9:00 we had some ice cream and then went to bed.
Yesterday I weighed in at 143.8 lbs.
That brings us to today.
I still have a headache, but it is not as painful as yesterday.
I woke up around 6am and weighed myself and took my drops and went back to bed. I weighed 143.6 lbs at 6am. I was not supposed to go back to bed, BUT I was exhausted. So, I finally got up around 7am.
This is the part I find strange, I decided to weigh myself again, before I dot in the shower. The scale said 142.4. I checked it 3 times. So, I'm not sure if I misread the scale at 6am or what. PLUS, I don't know how I lost any weight with all the junk I have eaten all weekend.
For breakfast I had two eggs over easy, two slices of toast and a slice of cheese.
For lunch, I have brought two chicken thighs from KFC, coleslaw and buttered noodles. I also brought cheese cubes to snack on and more Reese's Easter eggs to have this afternoon.
I'm not sure what we are having for dinner. I will let you know tomorrow how the rest of my day went today.
I have nearly put myself to sleep typing this. I hope you have not fallen asleep if you are reading this. :)

First Day of hCG!!
So, today is the day!! I am so excited!!
I took my first set of drops this morning at 4am. (I was up that early to help my husband run his Little Debbie route).They taste a little funny, not bad, just weird. It's going to be tough to remember NOT to drink anything 15 minutes before taking the drops.
I just took my second round of drops. I do have a pretty bad headache. Not sure if it's from the drops are being outside in the heat all day.
I don't know that I have eaten enough today for my first day of LOAD day. I had an egg and toast this morning before I went to work with Dave, my husband. After we were done working, we had volunteered at a charity fund raising event. We were in charge of selling hotdogs. So, I had three hotdogs!! I had one Coca-cola. We got home around 2:15 this afternoon. I have eaten 4 Reese's mini eggs ( it is Easter time...got to get rid of them before Tuesday :) ). I definitely need to get some more food in me.
Here are my measurements and weight for my first day! No judging. :)

The last picture seems to be the worst to me, probably b/c I never see myself from this angle.

I plan to post another update tomorrow and everyday for 26 days.
My goal is to lose 20lbs!!

HCG & Me!
Here we go! My first blog! Not sure how many people will read this, but it is more for me to stay motivated and be accountable to myself than for entertainment purposes. :)
Friday I ordered HCG for the first time. After doing a lot of research, soul searching and driving my husband nuts talking about it, I decided to take the plunge and order it.
For some reason, I feel like this program is going to work for me!!
During my research I checked out a couple of links, one being www.dietsinreview.com. When i was reviewing this link, there was a lot of mixed opinions, which I expected there would be. One person's opinion caught my attention. Her name is Candice Ekberg. She also has a blog site www.askcandice.blogspot.com.
After reading her information, I decided that I would give this diet a shot.
I feel like I have tried every diet under the sun....I know a bit of an exaggeration. Some have worked, some have failed, but mostly, I have not been able to stick to any program.
I LOVE food and I am not a fan of exercising.

A little information about me:
I am 33 years old. 5’3’’ 142lbs
I am not obese, but I am borderline overweight (according to the BMI index).
My husband loves me the way I am, but knows that I am not happy.
I want to lose 20lbs before July 4th (family picnic in Ohio ).
I have been doing a little walking and trying to do portion control and watch my carb intake.
I usually do really good during the week, and then blow it on the weekend (wings, pizza, beer, etc...).
For the past 8 years I have been trying to lose 20lbs. I had success on two programs. One was the Physician’s Weight loss Program (www.pwlc.com). I lost 10lbs and was sooooooo excited. But, sure enough, when I started eating REAL food again, I put some of the weight back on. They promote that you eat real food, but you have a lot of supplements (shakes/bars) that you eat/drink. It’s not a bad program, but it get’s EXPENSIVE when you have to continue to buy the shakes/bars.
The second program that was successful was NutriSystem. I lost another 10lbs. Again, not a bad program, but expensive and I didn't always like eating food from a box. When I stopped Nutrisystem, I was not in control of my eating habits and put 7lbs back on.
So, here’s a little history on my weight.
2001 - before I met my husband, I was 124lbs.
2002 - I met my husband and gained 30 lbs over 6 months (he's a good cook :)). I weighed in at 154lbs (heaviest I have ever been)
2004 - We got married. I lost 7lbs before the wedding: 147lbs.
2006 - I followed the PWLP and lost 10lbs: – 137lb
2007 - I tried Nutrisystem and lost another 7lbs – 130lbs
2007 - current, I put the 7lbs back on and have been fluctuating from 137 to 142 for the past 4years.
I would like to make a lifestyle change and get this 20lbs off for good!! I am just having trouble getting started again. Once I start this time I want to STICK with it forever!!!!!!!!
My plan:
Strictly follow the HCG diet. Once I am finished, I would like to implement the Body for Life diet/exercise program.
I have Turbo Jam at my house, so I would like to start using that too, along with my treadmill.
My husband and I do not have any children and I am not sure when we will start trying (not for at least 6 months). But, I do know that I would like to be in the best shape possible (physically & mentally) before I get pregnant.
Ok, I have rambled on long enough.
I am waiting for the HCG to arrive. Once I start the program, I will post my starting weight and measurements and possibly pictures. My husband took pictures this weekend of me in my bikini (not sure why he thinks I look good, but thank God he does :)). I will try to post daily how the diet is going.
